Obama and Holder Pull the Race Card, AGAIN

Listening to Attorney General Eric Holder and President Barack Obama address Al Sharpton’s National Action Network 16th annual convention last week, one would think Americans were living in the year 1964 not 2014. Holder pulled the race card blaming Republicans for criticizing him and Obama merely because they’re black.

Speaking prior to Obama, Holder suggested to the all black crowd that both he and the president had been treated badly by Republicans because they are black.

“It has nothing to do with me, forget that. What attorney general has ever had to deal with that kind of treatment? What president has ever had to deal with that kind of treatment?”

The fact is Holder has done a bad job as attorney general and unlike his fans within the black community like Sharpton, Republicans haven’t given him or Obama a free pass simply because they’re  the first blacks serving in heir roles. Remember Holder is the same attorney general who concocted the idea to give 9/11 terrorists a civilian trial in New York City, where the horror occur.

Holder refused to respond to subpoenas over the Justice Department’s Fast and Furious botched gun-running scheme and as House Speaker John Boehner said, Holder refuses to get to the bottom of the IRS scandal or what exactly happened in Benghazi. Why not appoint independent counsels to investigate both?

In his April 11th remarks to the National Action Network, Obama declared blacks are still “woe is me” victims whose voting rights are being infringed upon with 21st voter ID laws.

“But the stark, simple truth is this:  The right to vote is threatened today in a way that it has not been since the Voting Rights Act became law nearly five decades ago. Across the country, Republicans have led efforts to pass laws making it harder, not easier, for people to vote,” declared Obama.

How are laws that ask a person to verify his identity at the ballot box racist? When you go to the bank and cash a check, you have to show a picture ID and when you board a plane or enter buildings in major cities like Washington or New York City.

Obama alleged, “It is wrong to make a senior citizen who no longer has a driver’s license jump through hoops and have to pay money just to exercise the rights she has cherished for a lifetime.”  States with voter ID laws offer free state-issued IDs and many provide seniors with free transportation to places like the Department of Motor Vehicles that issue the IDs.

Democrats always love talking down to blacks, making the demeaning argument that blacks are disproportionately impacted by voter ID laws and somehow can’t get IDs to vote like whites. This is insulting.

Voter fraud does and can occur. When I voted recently in DC, I wasn’t asked to show an ID but just spout off my name and address. I could have just easily looked up a name and address in the phone book and voted as someone else.

Prior to the 1965 Voting Rights and before that during Reconstruction, it was racist southern Democrats who suppressed the black vote with literacy tests, poll taxes, death threats and lynchings. Even though Holder and his Democrat cohorts love calling voter ID laws the modern Jim Crow, we don’t see any of that today.

If the voter laws in 34 states are racist, why did black voter turnout surpass whites in 2012?

Why did black voter turnout exceed white voter turnout after Georgia, Indiana and Tennessee passed strict voter ID laws, according to  the US Census Bureau study “The Diversifying Electorate—Voting rates by Race  and Hispanic Origin in 2012.”

Finally, if today’s voter ID laws are truly racist why in 2013 did the Supreme Court rule the preclearance section of the Voting Rights Act was unconstitutional? In its ruling, the court said that voting rates for blacks in former racist southern states were not only equal to whites but in some states surpassed whites.

It’s not surprising Obama would misrepresent the facts about voter ID laws to Al Sharpton’s all black National Action Network crowd. Good old Al’s organization is nothing but a front group to help Sharpton line his pockets with profit all in the name of falsely accusing businesses, governments and people of racism.

If someone didn’t know which century he was living in and only heard Obama and Holder’s speeches, he wouldn’t believe America had elected the first black President of the United States not once but twice. That same person also might not imagine the country had its first black attorney general. Yet in the face of this reality, the dynamic duo of Obama and Holder keep misleading black Americans and distorting the strides our country has made 50 years since President Lyndon B. Johnson signed the Civil Rights Act into law.

Dear conservative black chick, while in office there has been 428 filabusters against what Obama is trying to do in way of helping people. Jimmy Carter had 2 filabusters. A filibuster is when the senate minority(republicans) makes the vote have to be passed at 60 percent instead of the just and regular 51 percent. White republicans have given Obama more than every other president combined. I hope this obvious racism towards our first black president will wake you up to the fact that you can no longer be a sell out and you will see that you have to stand with your fellow black man to extinguish racism.

Pres Oborrow and Holder, I am a white American and I disagree with liberalism. I am not racist (my spouse and child are both non-white). I support using common sense to write laws and run the gov’t. I also believe every person is capable of success if they are honest and work hard.

Voter laws proposed by conservatives seek to protect U.S. CITIZENS. The citizens have earned the right to vote by being law-abiding and paying taxes. Non-citizens should not be allowed to vote until they become citizens. People who believe this are not racists. STOP distorting the truth by calling us racists.

It is no surprise Oborrow came from Chicago: he is a manipulative, cunning, deceptive, crooked, lying politician. Apparetly, the soil in Chicago is perfect for growing these scum-bags.

How about when the new black panthers showed up at voting places to intimidate voters to vote for the black man? Pretty racist if you ask me. Racism is a two way street. People of all colors and races can be racist. Until some people quit trying to play the “woe is me” victim and quit categorizing everybody the opposite race as the devil, then racism will live on. You can’t remove a particle from your brother’s eye until you get the timber out of yor own eye. MATTHEW 7:5

Sometimes a couple hundred votes in a key area can swing an election. It’s just plain common sense to require an ID to vote. All Obama and holder have done is play on people’s prejudges and emotions in an effort to smear Republican’s for the upcoming 2014 elections. They know the Republican’s are expected to make major gains in Congress and possibly even take the Senate, that’s what this is all about.

to the man who said 99 percent of blacks are racist and refuse to grow out of their slave mentality– as a black woman I am very insulted by what you said, I think this site is disgusting.

  6. Franklin says:

birds of a feather stick together…..

99% of blacks are racist and refuse to grow out of their very comfortable slave mentality…..

  7. Black US Marine says:

She is just another UNCLE TOM!!!!! To become a black GOP, you have to hate everything BLACK, even your skin color, examples Clarence Thomas, Micheal Steele

  8. Uncle Sanders says:

I hear there are chickens here who support me.

  9. Scott says:

    @Crystal
Clive Bundy wants to teach you how to pick cotton. I don’t want to play the race card and claim he is saying that because your black so just go with it and pick some cotton like he wants. He isn’t racist he just wants to teach you a useful trade. Why don’t you wear a bandanna on your head and make us all pancakes when your done with the cotton. Sometimes you have to call a racist a racist no matter how many people get their panties in a bunch.

  10. James says:

Clive Bundy is representative of his peer group. An AP poll found that 81% of Republicans were “explicitly racist”. The number is even higher for White Males over the age of 40.

Clive Bundy Thank You for showing us all who the GOP, CONservartives, Tea party, and Council of Conservative White Citizens really are. Just Think Rand Paul that neo confederate stood up for Clive, I guess the old adage is true Birds of the feather flock together.

  11. JJMcD says:

The old, angry white racist guys and gals of the GOP still can’t believe they’re in a country that elected a black man to the Presidency. Slave days have been over since Lincoln. Deal with it, white people!

  12. Jay says:

Whats funny is several months ago you were complaining about the racist rant the GOP did against Erika Harold now you pretend racism has nothing to do with the treatment of Obama

  13. Aize says:

And you say let’s take our issues to black community? I say no thanks. They are the least informed of all and I’ll give you an example: I just love all this support from blacks that Obama has. However, contrary to what you may believe, blacks didn’t support Obama. Remember? They were completely on the Clinton bandwagon until the whites gave him the Iowa caucus. Once he got that national profile, then they all jumped on later. Not just the ordinary political unsophisticated blacks; but the Congressional Black Caucus and so-called political black elite. Remember they had all pledged their delegates to the Clinton camp; which dragged the primary on longer than it should’ve lasted. He couldn’t even when his black Congressional district in Illinois. The blacks wouldn’t support him. They chose the drunken, unpolished Bobby Rush. This to me means he probably wouldn’t have become mayor of Atlanta or New Orleans; or won a Congressional seat in those regions. Now all of a sudden there is all this black love for Obama. Who by the way, policies are hurting blacks more than any other group. So no, I’ll pass on taking my views to the black community for their take. Listen to Tavis Smiley’s answer to Sean Hannity’s question at the 1:30 mark.

Again you’re dialoging from a democratic and republican viewpoint. You’re discussing these meaningless elections and still believe it’s about your side and their side….funny. I’m discussing public policy and the nation’s agenda. And I’m laying out that no matter which party is in power, the policy and agenda stays the same. Pick you topic: Cuba, Iran, Korea, energy independence and/or oil, Federal Reserve, NSA, Guantanamo, Israel, Wall-Street, campaign finance. No matter who is in office the policy stays the same. You can think you voted for change or your side won all you want. The players change but the game stays the same; and it’s the same old game. Clinton lost house and senate control in his midterms, as did W. Bush, as did Obama. It’s the same game to make the people believe they’re making a change. Listen to the media and the pundits every administration. “Oh the people are dissatisfied with this president”. So what do they do? Give the house and/or senate back to the party they were fed up with the last election cycle. It’s a joke. It’s all rigged. I’m surprised you argue a position as if you’re on the side that won. You’re commitment gives the game legitimacy and game needs that…so keep playing! Too funny!!!

    WRT Pete’s post.
I would think that someone making so many serious accusations might post at least one link to support his assertions?

  16. pete says:

You just can’t handle the truth that’s all…Let’s take our views to the Black community and see who they agree with..

Wayne Bertsch, a veteran GOP consultant told the Tampa Bay Times that targeting Democrats was always the goal in curbing early voting. “In the races I was involved in in 2008, when we started seeing the increase of turnout and the turnout operations that the Democrats were doing in early voting, it certainly sent a chill down our spines.”

Another tactic, favored in Texas and Florida, is to target nonprofit groups that conduct voter-registration drives (the League of Women Voters, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People). This is achieved by imposing onerous new training, registration and/or liability burdens on the groups’ volunteers. The proportion of African-American and Latino voters who register through third-party drives is about twice what it is for whites.

    Republican campaign consultant Scott Tranter
“A lot of us are campaign officials — or campaign professionals — and we want to do everything we can to help our side. Sometimes we think that’s voter ID, sometimes we think that’s longer lines — whatever it may be,” Tranter said with a laugh.

Franklin County (Columbus) GOP Chair Doug Preisse.. “I guess I really actually feel we shouldn’t contort the voting process to accommodate the urban—read African-American—voter-turnout machine.” Preisse is not some rogue operative but the chairman of the Republican Party in Ohio’s second-largest county and a close adviser to Ohio Governor John Kasich.

Pa House majority leader Mike Turzai, said his state’s voter ID law “is gonna allow Governor Romney to win the state of Pennsylvania,”

U.S. District Judge Stephen J. Murphy ordered Michigan election officials to immediately halt and attempt to rectify one of the two practices – canceling voter registrations for those whose voter identification card is returned as undeliverable. Murphy ordered the state to remove the “rejected” marking in the qualified voter file for all persons whose original voter ID cards have been returned to the state as undeliverable since Jan. 1, 2006. About 1,500 people have been removed from the voter list in that manner this year, according to evidence presented in the case.

Voter hours were extended in white distrcits of Ohio while voting hours were cut in the Black districts….

  17. Aize says:

Voting Rights??? Ha ha!!! What a joke! Chris Hayes of MSN had a conservative and liberal on yesterday; who conducted a study that concluded that your voting has ABSOLUTELY NO IMPACT on public policy. If you’re still in ” voting is the answer crowd” or believe there is such thing as a conservative and Republican (with the exception of Rand Paul of KY and Bernie Sanders of VT) you are dreaming!!!

  18. Franklin says:

president jacka$$ obama is nothing more than a no good lying racist low life….

on the same low level of scum as sharpton…..

obama is the lowest point of the country in the history of the country….

obama is a massive all round failure as a president and as a human being…..
