Guns Aren’t Killing Black Kids and Michelle Obama Knows It

How ironic. Our first black President, Barack Obama, gets over 90% of the black vote in both elections but seems to run from black issues like he’s running from the plague. When was the last time he gave a policy speech on the breakdown of the black family? 73% of blacks are born to unwed mothers. When was the last time he spoke about blacks’ declining wealth compared to whites? Poverty, crime and a lack of education are intertwined and a product of out of wedlock births.

And when was the last time, Obama asked why “are so many young black people using guns to kill neighbors?” as Juan Williams wrote. Instead our first black president, emphasis on BLACK, sent First Lady Michelle Obama to Chicago, a wasteland of black genocide, Obama’s hometown, to give a speech about gun violence.

“Since 2008, more than 530 youth have been killed in Chicago with nearly 80 percent of the homicides occurring in 22 African-American or Latino community areas on the city’s South, Southwest and West sides,” reported The Chicago Reporter.

If I was a black liberal who voted for Obama, not only would I be mad but mad as hell. President Obama needs to speak to the people of Chicago and blacks nationwide not about gun control but about the utter collapse of the black family which is causing this violence not gun control laws. Both Chicago and Illinois have some of the strictest gun laws in the nation.

Blacks represent 13% of the population yet according to Justice Department data from 1990-2008, “blacks were six times more likely than whites to be killed and seven times more likely to kill.” According to the Centers for Disease Control 2009 data, blacks committed 54% of gun murders.

Instead of speaking on the need for more gun laws, Michelle Obama should have spoken about the real reason blacks are being slaughtered in Chicago and across the nation. Michelle Obama became emotional when she spoke how teen gang bangers gunned down 15-year-old Hadiya Pendleton after “days” performing for Obama’s inaugural.

The First Lady spoke about how Haydia like herself   “came from a good family -– two devoted parents” and that is the key to Michelle and Haydia’s success and the reason why Hadiya was killed.

“What if, instead of roaming around with guns, boys like them had access to a computer lab or a community center or some decent basketball courts? Maybe everything would have turned out differently, said Mrs. Obama. But what she should have said is “What if they had two parents” because I guarantee you the two black boys who killed Haydia didn’t come from “a devoted two parent home.”

In 1965, Democrat Patrick Moynihan wrote in The Negro Family: the Case for National Action: “the family structure of lower class Negroes I highly unstable, and in many urban centers is approaching complete breakdown” because 23.6% of blacks were being born to single mothers.  At the same time Moynihan noted blacks were becoming more dependent on welfare.

“The steady expansion of this welfare program . . . can be taken as a measure of the steady disintegration of the Negro family structure over the past generation in the United States,” wrote Moynihan

Today, 73% of black babies are born out of wedlock compared to 29% of white babies. Who takes care of these fatherless babies? The federal government. What is the likely future of black kids born to single parents? A future of poverty and crime.

Instead of tweeting:

“FLOTUS: First Lady Michelle Obama challenges Chicago leaders to create opportunity for all children: http://wh.gov/M6tn  pic.twitter.com/Q57FTwAtIj

Michelle Obama should challenge “black America” to do more marriage and parenting. At a minimum, she should challenge blacks as a race to a standard that mirrors whites’ out of wedlock birth rate. The lack of parents is literally killing the black race not guns. The First Lady and President Obama should get real and promote policies that promote marriage among blacks not perpetuate a false narrative on guns.

After all, that old-fashioned two-parent household was good enough for Michelle Obama and poor slain Hadiya. Shouldn’t it be good enough for all black Americans? Shouldn’t black America be challenged to a bright future? The time has come for black Americans to take responsibility for their actions and Democrats to stop nurturing policies of low expectations that feed their pathology.

Why Liberals treat blacks like “Useful Idiots”

    1. Liberals always keep race and racism in the fore-front of black people’s mind, this way they can distract them from concentrating on major issues that plague the black community like, poverty, unemployment, drop-out rate… It’s also an effective way to shame poor blacks and perpetuate the feeling of inferiority.

The Liberal-media relishes reporting on any and every nutty, racists’ comment (real or perceived) that ANYONE says about blacks and will blow ANY situation regarding BLACK racism out of proportion. They also love to feature documentaries or movies involving race/racism, i.e. CNN “Black in America”, MSNBC “America’s prisons”, Jena-Six, Trayvon Martin…., and on and on…

    2. The Liberal media encourages, celebrates, and rewards Materialistic, Crude, Hypersexual, Thuggish, Amoral behavior within the black community. They know that this makes “Mainstream America” associate negative, despicable behavior with the black race as a whole (it’s not fair, but it is reality). Not to mention that the blacks who subscribe to this behavior are looked upon as undisciplined, dysfunctional Neanderthals, (check out the current reality show line-up).

    3. Liberal-Hollywood, continually casts black actors in violent, crude, buffoonish, hypersexual, submissive or victim roles. Sure, there are exceptions, but they are far and few in-between. Again, this associates negativity, mediocrity, and inferiority with the black race, which lessens black influence in society.

    4. Liberals like to make blacks feel like perpetual victims. This gives people like Chris Matthews the opportunity to play the “white knight” role. Also, if people are always made to feel like they have no power or control over anything, then they start to believe it and eventually adopt a dependent attitude. They become needy and irresponsible, which falls in line with the over-all Liberal agenda.

    5. Liberals covertly play blacks against each other. They love to give the impression that ALL blacks are reared the same, and therefore should think and feel the same (by the way this is far from the truth these days). If a black person opts not to support this theory or their Liberal agenda, then they are verbally assaulted with racists’ darts. All the while, “tolerant, inclusive, compassionate” Liberals utter not a word in their defense.

    6. Liberals love to champion young blacks for their undying loyalty and “racial-pride” in the President, yet they fail to do anything to encourage them to improve their life-circumstance or community. Gee, What about encouraging them to take pride in themselves? Maybe then they would take steps in addressing the extreme violence, high unemployment rate, and high-school drop-out rate, an excessive number of out-of-wedlock births in their communities. Just a thought.

In summary, Liberals encourage blacks to be inadequate, immoral, dim-witted, bottom-feeders. They discourage them from being self-reliant, honorable, intelligent, contributing members of society. Why do they do this? They do it because it’s effective and for the most part it works in their favor. Think about it, they’ve even convinced black Christians to abandon their principles in regards to gay marriage, abortion, drug-use, and religious freedom all for the sake of “racial-pride”. I wonder if it’s all worth the price they’ll have to pay one day.

Thanks CBC. Your message is so right on.

I grew up in the 50′s and understand discrimination…..saw it. It was so wrong. I think the republicans tried to change all of that with the support of the Civil Rights Act. Most black people don’t know that the democrats were the ones who tried to block this progress.

My grandfather died when my father was 4 years old just prior to the depression. My father weathered all of those poor years (with a great mother) and a world war. He had one pair of his girl cousin’s pannies to wear and wash out every night as a kid. With a 7th grade education he grew up and worked three jobs all in the same day….selling life insurance, selling clothes out of a station wagon, and cooking hot tamales for a restaurant into the evening hours. My mother worked out most of her adult life as well. The two of them taught me values, how to take responsibility for my actions, how to work hard, how to treat people, how to fight for what I believe in. Most of all they showed me love and compassion. With two parents teaching, enforcing, educating, loving, etc. I think it gives a kid the best possible chance for success.

My wife and I both worked througout our life trying to make ends meet. I knew not to get married until I was ready. She knew not to risk having sex before she got a ring. We both knew not to have kids until we saved some money to make a nestegg to give our family a chance at success. At 62 with a high school education I still work into the evening estimating…… now knocking down six figures through hard work and long hours…. because of the values I learned from my parents. I’m married for 38 years two kids who I paid for private education with after tax dollars….public schools could no longer provide it here in New Orleans. The teachers themselves lack education. So my two kids grew up A students because we worked hard to provide for them, sacrifice where needed, pass on love, teach values.

Although my father turned out just fine in his one parent family…..I think it’s clear that your case is a good one and it’s a pity that so many black people cannot just recognize this as a simple fact without getting into other political issues.

Why should blacks vote for the racist birther party? Why should blacks vote for a party that tried to suppress its vote? Since u run from questions I wont expect an answer!

Mooch didn’t say they should have 2 parents, because there’s no outlay of taxpayer money having 2 parents. There’s taxpayer money to be collected for a computer lab, a community center or a basketball court. Barry’s and Mooch’s objective is to spend as much of the taxpayers’ money as possible. Dream up something new to throw money at. Find projects to waste money on. It’s called wealth re-distribution.

Why should hard-working people be forced to support lazy people??

  10. @Miles:Hey dude, what’s with you and this bit about penis envy? That sounds like down-low homosexual talk to me. What’s more, I don’t go that way. So, save your disgusting gay sex filth for another forum and head straight back to the ghetto!

  11. Noel says:

Why should any black person vote for a party that supports Communism??

    It is communist/socialist policies that are destroying America;
    RIGHT NOW!!!

  12. Scott says:

@Truevoice – you have proved nothing. You just keep repeating the same crap. See ya!

  13. Shawn says:

Dead on column, but it’s deeper than that. Parenting is just one of many examples of a lack of personal responsibility exhibited by many in our communities. But Michelle can’t comment on this because it’s contrary to the Democrat message that we’re not responsible for what happens to us. It’s corporations, it’s racism, it’s the rich, it’s Republicans,…it’s anything but us.

  14. Noel says:

Why should any black person vote for a party that supports white supremacists?

Both the Democratic Party and the Republican Party have racists that support them at their fringes. But both parties don’t support racists or racism. So political discussions should not be dragged down and reduced to pointing fingers as to which party is more racist. That’s just another obvious tactic of keeping black voters in line; keep them voting for the Democratic party.

Black supremacists (members of the New Black Panther Party) were seen in action around polling stations in 2008. But white people who voted for the Democrats were not asked why they voted for a party supported by black supremacists.

A black person should be FREE, just like a white person, to vote for the party they like.

  15. Michelle Obama says:

You do realize Obama just gave a speech on gun violence and personal responsibility in Chicago LAST MONTH, right?

Seriously, it’s clear you project a lot of your own insecurities onto the Obama’s. Youre probably sad you can’t get a man and will die in an apartment surrounded by pissy cats.

  16. Scott says:

@blackliberal you are so right about the analogy of guns and drugs. Laws do not control either. Please do not confuse Republicans with conservatives or especially Libertarians.

  17. Scott says:

@truevoice I am surprised you missed my point so completely. Here I thought I was interacting with people able to read. With that logic, no wonder you think 9-11 was an inside job, all Repubs are racist and all Dems are out for your well being. Gun control stops criminals, the war on drugs has been a great success. Good Luck.

  18. BlackLiberal says:

Conservatives are against legalizing drugs because they say the ready availability of drugs will lead to widespread use…
But when it comes to guns they refuse to acknowledge the ready availability of guns lead to more gun violence.

    Conservatives are extremely dishonest hypocrites.

  19. Scott says:

Though Obama and the Dems were gonna bring “hope and CHANGE”. That was what was advertised. Mostly were are getting emotional diversions.

Gangs were a problem when I was a kid in the 50′s, but we are not still talking about Eisenhower and company.

Addressing the problem would be a nice start to dealing with inner city violence. Guns? Not the source of the problem, just the means. After that knife attack, shall we ban knives? I once drove a nail through my foot, shall we regulate nails?

I am not a sociologist, but someone must have some ideas. How about personal responsibility for a start?

Obama has so much potential – and he is wasting it.

  20. Scott says:

Is it possible to discuss CBC’s contention that the black community should take responsibility for itself? Is it possible that the breakdown of the family is part of the problem and that basketball courts and laws aimed at the law abiding may not solve deeper problems?

Or maybe those of you so offended by CBC’s comments are happy with the way inner city ghettos work. Survival of the fittest certainly at work. That certainly is a conservative value, after all.

  21. Miles says:

  26. Crystal,

Again, your article is right on the money! The Obamas are making too many excuses for black people. And as a result, crippling them and making them more dependent upon the Democratic Party. What’s more, the First Lady, like her husband is a fraud! Black people still continue to allow the white liberals to brainwash them. What’s quite interesting, most of the comments I read on here are from uneducated people who can’t find a way to deconstruct your articles and proceed to come at you or other conservative blacks with ad hominum attacks laced with ghetto logic and profanity. Keep on keepin’ on!

  27. Angela says:

Keep doing what you are doing in calling out the left on how they are truly not helping the poor and especially poor Black Americans. I saw you on Hannity last week and I am in awe of you and the entire group that was there. I too think education is key, but you are right, the problem of unwed mothers needs to be addressed as well.

Please don’t give up and please don’t let the haters get you down. You are making a difference!

  28. Keon says:

Unfortunately, even with the obvious failings of our community on full display every where you look these days there are still those who lash out when criticisms are lodged. The First Family and the Democrats will never admit what the real problems are and most in the black community don’t want to hear the truth or tell the truth. Looks pretty hopeless at this point.
