Obama Pied Piper of Promises, Race and Things

Oozing with contempt, bombast, bravado, and arrogance but void of a plan describes the speech President Barack Obama gave to the Democrat National Convention to justify his re-election. Strutting onto the stage before his adoring base, Obama launched into  the same tirade we’ve heard many times before: class warfare, Osama bin Laden is dead, I inherited a mess, I need more time, “change is a coming.”

“You elected me to tell you the truth,” shouted Obama. The sad thing is we’re not getting any truth. In 2008, Obama  said if he couldn’t turn things around in four years, he should be a one-term president. But those pledges dissolved into preacher like demands Thursday night. Obama mentioned hope 15 times, telling the crowd he’s never been “more hopeful about America.” It’s just delivering on those promises of change he doesn’t want to talk about.

What was particularly shocking about his speech was when Obama declared like Richard III or Julius Caesar, presiding over a kingdom, “I’m no longer just a candidate. I’m the President.” Being elected the first black president, Obama seems to think he’s been given a mandate to do as he pleases, ignore the wishes of the American people, and not compromise to realize his radical vision of remaking America into a “fairer” totalitarian state, in which other people’s money is redistributed to the masses.

The subtext here is Obama will continue pushing the same old hackneyed polices which created 42 months of unemployment above 8%, gridlock in Washington, $16 trillion in debt and the first credit downgrade of America. In using the word “refuse” several times, he was telling Republicans he won’t work with them.

Obama promised more “investing” that is government spending with no attention to reigning in our deficits: wind and solar energy, more $500 million Solyndra loans, more government student loans, higher taxes on the rich, climate change, healthcare, more job killing regulations on Wall Street.  You get the idea.

Obama sounded like a president on the ropes, an attack dog, running from his record when he turned his fiery words to mocking Romney as “being new to foreign policy.”  If anyone acts foreign to foreign policy it’s Obama, who has made the United States a less safer nation, as Romney said in Tampa. Obama has alienated Israel for the Palestinians, allowed Iran to become nuclear, stood by while radical Muslims rose as leaders from the dust of the Arab Spring and allowed Assad to slaughter the people of Syria.  P.S.- It was Bush’s enhanced interrogation techniques, waterboarding to be exact, which Obama rejected, that enabled CIA and the Navy SEALs to capture bin Laden.

In her Republican National Convention speech Condoleeza Rice detailed how Obama’s lack of leadership abroad has led the world to see America as a nation in decline. “They see a government that continues to borrow money, mortgaging the future of generations to come.  The world knows that when a nation loses control of its finances, it eventually loses control of its destiny, “ Rice remarked.

Despite our fragile economic state, our soaring debt, another bad jobs report and the Congressional Budget Office’s prediction unemployment will climb to 9% if the Bush tax cuts aren’t extended for everyone, President Obama gave no serious plan to cut spending. Mitt Romney committed to creating 12 million jobs through a five step plan: making America energy independent by 2020, strengthening education through school choice, forging new trade agreements, cutting our deficit and reducing taxes on businesses by repealing Obamacare.

While “President Obama promised to begin to slow the rise of the oceans and heal the planet,” said Romney. “MY promise…is to help you and your family. I will begin my presidency with a jobs tour. President Obama began with an apology tour.”

“The choice is between two different paths for America,” as Obama said. Romney, who has both public and private sector experience, turned around businesses, created jobs, and reduced Massachusetts’s unemployment to 4.7%. Or Obama, who is thick on promises, thin on results, who rose from being an unknown Illinois state senator with no voting record to a Senator who ran for president in 2007 a year into the job.

In the movie 2016 , writer Shelby Steele described Obama as the racial redeemer, the black candidate who at last would absolve whites of their guilt. Steele said “Obama was elected because he was black and he knew it.” No other candidate with such little experience could have risen to president were it not for his race, noted Steele.

Steele explained that whites felt gratitude voting for Obama and that’s what Obama is counting on again in 2012. While he exclaimed “you see, the election four years ago wasn’t about me,” that’s exactly what it was and  is still about. This is why during the 2008 campaign and into his presidency Obama and the mainstream media exploited his race to cover up for his inexperience and incompetence. Any criticism leveled against him by his opponents is quickly labeled racist because he’s the first black president and shouldn’t be held accountable to the same standards scrutiny as his predecessors.

In accepting his party’s nomination, Obama seemed  to covey an arrogance, almost daring the American people not to vote for him again, telling them because he’s special, the nation’s first black president, he deserves more time to fix things. As the Hoover Institution’s Victor Davis Hanson wrote,  in 2008 voters were “led to the polls by the mellifluous music of a pied piper.” I don’t think they’re going to fall for the same tune again. The music just doesn’t sound as sweet a second time.

I am astonished at how Obama lies, and then PEOPLE BELIEVE HIM!!!! Despite all the evidence and history. I’m becoming frightened at the prospect of him being president for 4 more years. The country’s only hope is that we retain the House and take the Senate. Or just retain the House and continue blocking his stupid, arrogant plans to subvert the Constitution.

Barack Obama is as sleazy as a Chicago alderman. There are times when he out-Nixons Nixon in the slime factor.

Beautiful article! You covered all the points about Obambi. Yeah it’s all about him. Yes he got a free pass because of white guilt. And oh, how he still likes to pinch himself and remind himself “I’m the President”, as if he doesn’t believe it. Deep down he knows he doesn’t deserve the title.

Mmm interesting. Always like to hav a balanced perspective on politics. So I seek out both conservative and liberal media. I kno the truth lies somewher in between. Good 2 kno tht ignorance is a two way street. Just thought id add my own 2 cents. Repiblicans and Democrats are both 2 blame 4 the situation this country is in. The Obama admin. Blames Bush well Bush had a democratic congress. Republican blame Obama well the Republicans control congress now. Both parties r in bed with corp. Lobbyists and big money good ole boys. So really all this heated hatred directed at either party is pointless 4 the avg. Thy tell u wht they want u 2 hear. And laugh while we duke it out. Elections 4 me is basically choosn a poison. Wh will cause th least damage. I’m union so the choice boils down 2 my bottem line. So Romney is out 4 me. Th rest of tht mess is all razzle dazzle so thy can keep it

……Thank you. I am so looking foward to obama being tossed the hell out.

  8. Balladeer says:

I always laugh at people like Nicole who admit they are union but then try to pretend they aren’t democratic party zombies. Cute lil spin, Nicole (or whatever your real name is) to do the tired little racebaiting bit with your “pale” remark!

If you’re so “balanced” give us a link to a thread somewhere where you supposedly question liberal talking points. Can’t? Didn’t think you could, “Nicole”.

By the way, at least use your real name or provide a link for people to establish that you’re not just a tiresome liberal troll.

I think Nicole is for real. Admits union. Who isn’t looking at own pocket book today? Only problem I see is truth lies somewhere between. Nope. Truth is just that, not lying anywhere between, truth is truth. You got to just not be sidelined by falsehoods.

I wrote a piece about irresponsible journalism on my website:

The Ongoing Trend of Irresponsible Journalism.

It is a very dangerous thing for a free republic, but the practice is nothing new. What is new is the collusion between a sitting president and a majority of the main stream media. This is quite a phenomenon.

Great article. Thank you! I could not agree with you more.
