Paul Ryan Is Mitt Romney’s Game Changer

Mitt Romney really wants to win this thing! After watching Team Obama turn the 2012 presidential election into a sideshow of discussions on minutiae, tax returns, horses, and Olympics, it was thrilling to see Romney finally seize control of this election narrative in naming Rep. Paul Ryan his running mate.
Ryan is Mitt Romney’s game changer. Period! As House Budget Committee Chairman, Ryan crafted a bold budget in 2011which proposed $6.2 trillion of cuts in government spending over 10 years. Ryan’s budget included reforming the tax code, offering Medicaid block grants to the states, Medicare premium subsidies so seniors can choose private insurance and giving people the option of investing their Social Security benefits. It passed in the House and course the Democrat Senate has taken no action on it or proposed an alternative.
In picking Ryan, Romney put President Obama on notice that he will no longer be able to run from his record of economic failure, broken promises and lies. As of August 11th, this election will be about the important things facing our country, “the higher unemployment, declining incomes and crushing debt” caused by Obama’s “misguided polices,” said Ryan. Standing ready for battle, against the backdrop of the USS Wisconsin, in Norfolk, Virginia, Ryan continued with the obvious, “This is the worst economic recovery in 70 years.”
After hearing Romney’s news, Obama tried to obfuscate his record yet again, tweeting Saturday in response to Romney’s VP announcement:
“Paul Ryan is an architect of the top-down GOP budget that cuts education, energy, & innovation even as it gives tax cuts to the wealthy.”
The truth is Obama has been the architect of nothing but misery for Americans: $16 trillion in debt, 42 straight months of 8% plus unemployment, diminished wealth, and 1 in 6 Americans becoming poor.
Ryan knows America’s piggy bank has gone bust and Ryan has been the architect of a plan to get America’s fiscal house in order so Granny won’t lose her Medicare and fall off the cliff in her wheelchair. Ryan and Romney have faced the reality America can’t sustain our current levels of spending. Obama on the other hand, wants to spend America out of greatness, even ignoring the dire warnings from his own Simpson Bowles debt reduction commission: “The era of debt denial is over, and there can be no turning back.”
With Ryan as his running mate, Romney has the ammunition to make every second of minute every of every day of this campaign about the fact that “Regrettably, President Obama has become part of the problem and Mitt Romney is the solution,” as Ryan said. Obama has spent in his way into deficits of over $1 trillion dollars every year he’s been in office, “creating the largest deficits and biggest federal government since World War II,” Ryan noted. Certainly, this is not the kind of hope and change Americans wanted in 2008.
Obama has made it clear he doesn’t believe in American exceptionalism. But Ryan reminded us America is “the only country founded on an idea. Our rights come from nature and God, not government. We promise equal opportunity, not equal outcomes.”
“This idea is founded on the principles of liberty, freedom, free enterprise, self-determination and government by consent of the governed. This idea is under assault,” Ryan added.
Conversely, Obama believes without government we can’t build business or achieve anything as individuals. Obama’s re-election campaign promotes the Life of Julia a fictitious woman who depends upon government from cradle to grave to exist. Obama’s policies resent success and promote Robin Hood policies that take from those who work hard and redistribute their successes to those who work less. This is not America!
“We have a critical decision to make as a nation,” warned Ryan. Voters can chose the path upon which this nation was founded “the principles of liberty, freedom, free enterprise, self-determination and government by consent of the governed,” he said. Or Americans can allow Obama to continue to grow an unsustainable nanny state, void of jobs, where Americans are dependent upon government to live.
You know a conservative is a REAL threat to liberals when they begin to heap mountains of hate onto him or her. Shortly after Romney announced Ryan as his VP pick, CNN’s Candy Crowley crowed, “looks a little bit like some sort of ticket death wish.”
Ryan bolstered Romney’s run for president and that is scaring the heck out of liberals like Crowley. Mitt and Paul combined have a better plan for renewing America than the current duo running the show. In one day, Ryan helped Romney haul in $3.5 million. That doesn’t look like a death wish ticket to me.
Dear Candy, the death wish occurred in 2008 with the election of Barack Obama. If Americans are really honest with themselves, they will admit Obama has been an utter disaster.
Mr. Romney said of Ryan, “I did not make a mistake with this guy.” No you didn’t Mitt.
As Liberals look on with fear, envy and loathing, America’s Comeback Team America’s Comeback Team is off to a roaring start. We the people can’t wait to see what lies around the corner.
CBC…I love your blog! Upbeat and dynamic! Keep it up! We need more people like you to help us stay encouraged and focused! I pray every day that God will give America another chance to once again be the Nation our Founding Fathers envisioned!
One great choice. I’m still worried that the press working with Obama and so many uninformed people voting that Obama will win in Nov. It is impossible for me to understand how anyone would ever consider voting for Barry. Of course I could’n understand why he was elected in the first place given his background and voting record.
Bravo – great quote – “equal opportunity, not equal outcomes”
God bless America out of economic misery and stagnation….go
RomneyRyan!!!
Right on, Crystal! Paul Ryan was a brilliant choice and the Obama regime are shaking in their boots and with great reason. My son also graduated from Miami University in Oxford Ohio, where future VP, Ryan will be speaking shortly. Living in Cincinnati, I believe Ryan’s ties with the state, in addition to his superb understanding of ecomics and political science, will attract Independents like me to vote the Romney/Ryan ticket. With Ryan’s command of our true economic status and his confident, fearless manner when addressing untrue attacks was exactly what Romney needs. I’ve not been excited about Romney and have been feeling hopeless about his chance of winning but hit the nail on the head by saying “Paul Ryan is a game changer!” Now, if we can just keep Biden campaigning and making the stupid and racist comments as he did yesterday, Obama’s fair weather initial voters might just vote him out or stay home!
Keep up the great work!

……….Vice President Joe Biden fails to mention that President Barack Obama, U.S. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, the Congressional Black Clueless….AKA…the Congressional Black Caucus, etc., etc., are inept, un-American, treasonous, disgraceful, etc., etc., these reasons being the primary reasons that U.S. born black men, women, and/or his or her siblings continue to be oppressed, enslaved, reduced to much, much, much, less than U.S. citizenship status in contemporary years.
Agree completely. I was initially disappointed it wasn’t Marco Rubio but I think there would have been some problems there. Paul Ryan is the future of the Republican party. And Romney looks so much better for having the courage to pick him.
I love your blog, btw!
I appreciate your thoughts on Paul Ryan. He is an exciting addition to this election year. However, I am bothered by the constant view from the conservative crowd that blames the current economic woes of our nation on President Obama. It is dishonest not to admit that he is cleaning up a financial mess that no president could fix in 4 years. Also, you refuse to acknowledge that the man has slowly grown the economy over the last few years despite a congress that refuses to cooperate with him and a worldwide recession. I am not saying that he is above criticism or has done things perfectly but the conservative media is not being honest about his progress. They are not creating a real conversation in this election about the best interests of our nation.
Why in the world would ANY Black person be right-wing? I hate the right-wing; when I think of the right-wing, I think of the Nazis, Klan and skinheads.
